Polmaily House Hotel - any recent experiences or other good child-friendly options

We are looking for somewhere to stay with 3 kids (5, 3 and 7 months) in August as a bolt-on to our main holiday at Gleneagles. I have been looking at Polmaily but it gets mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. The only Mumsnet chat is 5 years old...any thoughts gratefully received. We are looking for something mid-range upwards (but not as expensive as Gleneagles) and within an hour (either direction) of Perthshire. Thanks
