Anybody been to Bideford Bay, Devon before?

We're currently looking to book our holiday for this summer and were hoping to get away with paying for it with our clubcard vouchers. Wanted to go to cornwall really but doesn't look like we'll have enough to book with the company who covers cornwall. We could however pay in full for a caravan for the week in Bideford Bay. Does anyone know what it's like as we're abit tight on finances this year and hoped to cover cost in vouchers

I have been to Ilfracombe and the area was lovely. It was about 10years ago though so the details are not fresh in my memory.

Thanks. It always feels abit of a lottery when you don't know anyone who's been before.

Rain sounds familliar! We had a fabulous holday in cornwall when ds was 7 months old. BC went abroad 2 or 3 times a year but finances are now somewhat different and i was seduced by the beautiful UK. It's been rubbish weather on every holiday since!

Few lovelier places than N Devon when the weather is right. THere is quite a lot to do indoors in the bad weather, because it happens reasonably often! The beaches at Croyde, Saunton Sands and Woolacombe are absolutely fantastic. There is a lot of good walking on Exmoor national park. Tea shoppes abound! I find I'm in heaven... If you're especially adventurous and your children aren't too little, a trip over to Lundy is fun. And you can go mackerel fishing. It's not really cold even in the rain, so there's still plenty of scope for rock pooling even if the weather's a bit indifferent.

We will go for the 3rd year in a row to Torrington (Torridge House farm) and Bideford is a 15 minute drive away.Lovely area and Instow has a lovely sand beach which is just over the bridge from Bideford.

Enjoy!
