Personally I've always liked Eastern Eye, but they change hands often, so recommendations get out of date quickly, but Eastern Eye has been consistent over the years. Also depends on whether you want a restaurant or a cafe, Eastern Eye is a restaurant. It specialises in Balti and was the first balti house on Brick Lane (showing my age).
