Obviously the beach... (weather permitting). Any other ideas? Is the zoo open yet?

TIA.

You can go and see the seals in Hunstanton and there is a little steam train nearby (two different ones actually). Lots of nice walks too if you like that kind of thing

Hunstanton is a hike...
Okay, there's an indoor play centre (FunStop), if weather gets foul.
There's the steam railway in Sheringham (use the real bus or real train line to get to Sheringham).
There's a cafe on Church street where child can paint a mug to keep.
There's a boating pond at top of the promenade.
There's a fun-fair bit near the pier.
Lifeboat museum at end of pier.
I think zoo is due to open soon, but can't remember for sure.
Walk 1.5 miles to Overstrand cafe along cliffs or on beach (nice playground 200metres along the cliffe back towards Cromer).
Pond opposite North Lodge.
There's a cliff-top walk to Overstrand with wooded area (it's a town park with special name, cant recall right now) , playground towards caravan park & lighthouse.

Live shows on pier, but I dont know about age suitability.

Sticky Earth Cafe, that's the one where you can paint a mug. Walk East from the Church on the land-ward side of the road, it's actually out of sight from the church.
Henry Bloggs museum (between pier and North Lodge).
If you have a car there's the Priory Gardens and maze, The Wizard Maze, Felbrigg Estate, Sheringham Country Park all not too far away, too.

if you have a car: Shire Horse centre at Upper Sheringham, go to Morston along the coast and take a trip to see the seals on a boat from there - if weather is warm and not too windy - but phone first - google 'temples seal trips, morston'.
Along the coast at Wells-next-the-sea the beach is a wide open sandy beach, brilliant for digging, with crazy golf and trampolines by the car park.
The best chip shop in Cromer (and is is brilliant) is the one with red and blue paint in the little old streets at the top of the pier - it has a name like 'sarah janes' or something.
There is a lovely old cinema showing a range of children's and grown ups films in Cromer.
Hop on the train for the 10 min trip to Sheringham for a change of scenery, look at the Steam trains.

Search my name and 'Norfolk' in the UK holiday board fofr lots of lists!

oh, yes, 'Mary Janes'. Everything fried fresh to order, lovely crispy batter, and they do pineapple rings, too - my favourite!

I was going to say the beach in (almost) any weather! Just make sure you have some good waterproofs for the little ones (and for yourself!). At that age they'll love making sandcastles etc even if it's chilly.

We got ours from www.vikingkids.co.uk.

You can easily reach shire horse centre by train, too -- 5 min. walk from West Runton station.

oh and if you get as far as aylsham there is a small guage railway which takes you to wroxham and you can spend the day hiring a boat to pootle along the waterways.

Definately go to Mary Janes. Other than that I would stay on the train until Sheringham, where there are great little junk/antique shops, an old fashioned sweet shop, nice pubs, steam trains and Splash - a swimming pool with waves.
