Planning of going to Holy Island, Alnwick, Beamish. We have a 6yo so either any child friendly places or just nice towns to pootle about. Would welcome more ideas as we're going for a week.

Thanks

Chillingham Castle, most haunted in britain? Ford.Etal/Heatherslaw - steam railway that runs between them all?

Anwick gardens, huge tree house type thing, water gardens etc.

Wet and wild at north shields if its raining.

Bamburgh

Morpeth is a nice wee market town, not a huge amount for a 6 year old but nice none the less

Diggerland in lanchester is great for wee boys, only about 10 mins from beamish

Hope this helps

There's a really good farm near Morpeth with quite a lot of indoor things too. White-something, maybe Whitehouse farm. Great chinese takeaway in Wooler. We found it on our last night there a couple of years ago and DH wanted to go back this year for a holiday just so he could have another garlicy takeaway. Beach at Bamburgh lovely. Decent pool at Berwick if it chucks it down. Wet n wild great with older kids but not much for little children.

Whitehouse Farm near morpeth is really nice, we were there at the last BH weekend.

Beamish is good but really quite a drive from Wooler, not sure if it will be worth it tbh but depends on how good your ds is in the car.

Loads of nice castles; Alnwick, Bamburgh, Warkworth, Chillingham, Dunstanburgh.

Craster kippers/smokery, nice little harbour with a walk along a coastal path to Dunstanburgh castle.

Newcastle to see the millenium bridge that tilts.
