I'm not sure that the words good hotel and Redcar can be put into teh same sentence can they?

That is rather my fear. But am hoping perhaps for 'less bad'

I have actually stayed in a hotel in Redcar - for 4 nights! (it was for work purposes). But, fortunately, I've forgotten teh name of it (and it was about 12 years ago)

From Yellow Pages Oh, it's all come back to me. I stayed at the Red Barns. Not recommended

There are no nice hotels in Redcar. I am origionally from there and returned to the are from 11 in the SE earlier in the year. The only decent one was turned in to appartments

Oh bad typing from me sorry . I meant 11 years in the SE. The best of a bad bunch would be the Park Hotel at least it is on the beech

lol, thanks Tinker - at least that's one crossed off the list!

Found this which looks tolerable and is the most expensive place in redcar, I think, which is always good! www.theparkhotelredcar.co.uk/mainframe.htm

Does it have to be Redcar. Redworth Hall nr Darlington is lovely we have stayed there a couple of times.

sort of does, dyzzidi, as I'll have no car & need to be in redcar late on one night & early next day. Thank you for trying to tempt me away, though

Just a thought you could stay at Rushpool Hall. It is in Saltburn which is about 20 mins taxi away from Redcar and much much nicer. Infact we had our wedding reception there 13 years ago!!!
