NYE 2016 London

Hi all,

DH, myself & our 2 DCs (13 & 15) are going to be in London for NYE this year, and I’m stumped for ideas on what to do. We’re coming from Australia. DH & the DCs have never been to the UK. (I grew up there but haven’t been back for 20 years myself, so I will be returning as a virtual stranger too). I am not overly familiar with the city either.

We are going to be travelling around visiting extended family afterwards, but actually arrive in London on the 31st. I was trying to get tickets to the NYE London fireworks but they’re sold out. (Probably not such a bad thing as crowds make me anxious… ) However, the DCs are very disappointed so I would like to find an alternative so they feel they’ve had a special NYE night in London.

We are staying at the Premier Inn London(Bank).

I would be eternally grateful for any ideas!

if you walk down to blackfriars bridge or millennium bridge ie outside the ticketed zone you should still be able to see the fireworks.
