London with a tweenager - what to do...

We have an afternoon and morning. I vetoed Madam Tussauds as paying to avoid huge queues was exorbitant. She doesn't fancy the London Eye, nor the Aquarium. Any suggestions?

We loved Madame Tussaud's, but we did go during term time, so probably was a better experience then during holidays.

How about the Pokemon shop in the trocadero, saunter down Carnaby Street, Libertys, Japanese Centre for something to eat, bus to Hyde Park for a walk along the Serpentine and to see the Diana Memorial. Plus there are often interesting things at St James's Piccadilly, and Fortnums of course. Then Knightsbridge for Horrids, Harvey Nicks and Beauchamp Place!

How about the skygarden?

There are a lot of outdoor cinemas in London too which can be fun.

The Shard? Kids go free at half term. Then wander around the South Bank. Plenty of places to eat too, Pizza Express, Giraffe etc.

A wander round covent garden is fun.

I took mine (aged 10, 14 and 15) to the Cereal Killer Cafe at Camden, up the Sky Garden (fab, free, but have to book in advance), then to Ripleys Believe It or Not, which was surprisingly good, as I wasn't expecting much from it, but we all loved it. We booked tickets online in advance and got them half price.
Then to Covent Garden for the Apple Store and Smokehouse.
