Alton towers or Drayton Manor for 5yo 1yo heavily pg me and and Dh?

With that age group and you not being able to go on any rides, I wouldn't waste the money!

Drayton Manor Thomas Land. However I wouldn't visit because of the appalling conditions of the animals in the 'zoo'

If you have a little Thomas fanatic then definatly Drayton Manor. Ds thought it was magical at that age.

But if your child is like dd was & really into CBeebies then Alton Towers.

Drayton manor for me. I'm not sure about Alton towers but at Drayton manor preggos can get cheaper tickets as non riders.

Can you get to Southampton? Paulton's is better than Drayton Manor. Peppa for the 1yo and the new lost kingdom for the 5yo. Gardens for you to chill out in. It's clean and well run and is the only theme park I've ever been to with decent food options.

I haven't been to Alton Towers for about 20 years so I'm not sure how that compares but we love Paultons

Twin lakes is a theme park for young children, near Melton Mowbray. It's fun for under 8s and very reasonable :)

Having just done Alton Towers being pregnant and struggling to walk. I would advice to stay away. However the water park in the hotel was amazing. I had my DH my niece and my daughter who was 3. I could only go on a handful of rides with her in the CBeebies bit, once you leave this but I found it hard to walk and find somewhere to sit. It was more hilly then I remember when not pregnant so struggled up these bits. Didn't mind standing with the buggy and waving but need somewhere to sit other then the floor, plus finding loos where hard when I needed. Plus you have to pay full price

We did Drayton Manor years ago. It was really grotty and tatty. Lots of rubbish and past its best. And DS came home with fecking impetigo. Never again!

Drayton manor. Thomas land will be perfect for those ages. Also the 5yo might like a few of the bigger rides in the park too. There's a boat trip, trains around the park and a cable car too, so you would get to go on some 'rides' all together. If you have any tesco club card points you can get entry for approx £11 per person (don't think you pay for a 1 year old, or there is a small toddler entry fee- can't remember the age, sorry).

Also, DM is relatively small and flat, which might help you! Parts of it are a little tatty but Thomas land is well maintained

Don't know where you are in the country but for that age Sundown Adventureland at Retford was my favourite. Some really lovely and imaginative things to see and do,(although a good few years since I went last). Fairly flat to walk round. Gullivers at Matlock is good too but there is more for a one year old to do at Sundown. Gullivers is also set on quite a steep site if you have buggy/pregnancy to think of.

Alton Towers is brilliant but not for that age as too spread out and aimed at teenagers and adults. Not been to Drayton so can't comment.

Just been on the Sundown website after my last post and seen some of the photos of the little houses and singing animals etc. It's reminded me of how much the kids loved it there and now I want to go again. My kids too old though, I'm going to have to borrow some suitably aged children for a day
