Birmingham tomorrow afternoon - wheelchair-friendly - ideas

We find ourselves in Birmingham tomorrow afternoon with a few hours to spare. After recommendations for half a day visit for me with DD(11) and DS(13) but DD currently in a wheelchair. Ideally not central Birmingham unless easy parking is close by. Was thinking of the Black Country museum or a walk down the canal area. Any thoughts? (Already doing Cadburys World).

The Black Country museum isn't in Birmingham at all, and by its nature, not terribly wheelchair friendly tbh. You could park at Grand Central in the city centre or at the Bullring and either mooch round, go down by the canals, or go to the museum and art gallery which is free, accessible, and has the Staffordshire Hoard which is pretty amazing. The tea room is vv nice as well, but obv loads of food options around town

Thank you Dibbler. Some food for thought there. Think weather not looking great so slowly ruling the Black Country museum out now esp if accessibility not great.

The Thinktank science museum is pretty good fun. There's a car park directly behind it.

Thank you both. Ended up walking the canal tow paths and into the museum to see the Staffordshire hoard. Birmingham is a great city and was really accessible.

Good to hear it worked out. I love the tow paths, you really get a sense of them being the motorways of the city.
