Centre Parcs query-what does the maid service involve?

Neve been before and just noticed our villa has a daily maid service. I've never been anywhere fancy enough for a daily maid service and was wondering what they actually do? I looked in CP website and it talked about making beds, tidying, cleaning bathroom, and washing up. So would they really do this every day? I wonder how long they have for each villa to do this as some must be messier than others. If the dishwasher was left clean would they by magic empty it for us? I'm just curious really. I can't work out if I am really excited by the idea or if I don't like the idea of someone coming in whilst we may be there and feeling awkward.

Unrelated cp question: do they have bed guards? Can't see anything on their website.

We had this once - they just come in and do a quick make of the beds, empty bins etc - it's nothing too elaborate. We were in when they turned up one morning so they left and didn't come back! To be honest it was a bit pointless, not sure why they offer the service really as you are still self catering in regards to everything else. We didn't ask for a maid service it just came with the type of cabin we were staying in. Never seen bed guards but there is a cot and stair gate in every chalet.

They certainly never did our washing up! There is a dishwasher in every chalet anyway. Perhaps they may have loaded it for us but we did it ourselves anyway so don't know about that.

They normally make beds, empty dishwasher and bins etc, general kitchen tidy.
Also no bedguards (at Whinfell anyway).

Ours put the dishwasher on and made beds. Changed towels if asked. Didn't empty the dishwasher, he just put it on again...

They made the beds and wiped down the sinks in the bathrooms, also emptied bins and replenished loo rolls etc. They tidied ds' toys which were sprawled all over the floor and folded his sleeping bag over his cot etc, also put the dw on if we forgot, generally made things neater. The blackboard is the place to communicate with them if you're out, we loved writing messages back and forth

Ahh, so they replenish loo rolls? I thought they'd give you one and you'd have to supply the rest so was planning on taking them with us, but won't if not needed.

I'm worried about communicating on blackboard if I ask for something (eg empty dishwasher/new towels) which may be more than their remit and then have an extra charge for this at the end without realising.

They didn't replenish our lop rolls however they were really good (Longleat). Hoovered round, cleaned surfaces, loaded dishwasher and turned on, made beds, emptied bins.
No bed guards though.

They only change towels on certain days - there's a notice in the bathroom telling you which days and where to leave them. If you need them at any other time just ask at guest services,

Thank you all. Sorry, I'm thinking of more questions Blush . Do you need to do anything at the end of the week end before leaving like take bed sheets off or clean the bathroom etc or is this all done. It would save us time the morning we leave not having to faff with these things.

We will definitely need to bring the bed guard with us then as DD is used to a duke bed plus bed guards and has never/rarely slept in a single bed.

If we've got maid service then we generally just do a quick tidy and empty the bins. In non maid service then we do everything.

On the last day that is.
