We have tickets for the Bank holiday weekend for the studio tour. Our slot is 9 am. I was just wondering how long we would spend there. Is four hours enough to see everything, with say a break for coffee for twenty minutes or so?

The tickets are expensive, so i would like to get value for money from them {smile}
Friends have asked if we could meet them for lunch in Central London. i'm just wondering if the times will work?
Anyone been, and how long have you spent there.
Thanks.

OH MAH GAWD! You'll love it. When I went it was split into two parts and I don't think you could go back into the first if you'd left it, IYSWIM. So make sure you see and do all the cool things there first. Come out. Drink your Butterbeer. Take some snaps with cars, knight bus, on the bride and outside 4 privet drive. See and do everything in the second part and then spend all of your money in the shop at the end Wink

I'd allow more than 4 hours unless your children are small (at which point I suspect they'd be overwhelmed/tired by then). We went for dd's 13th birthday and were in there probably 5 hours plus. So no, I definitely wouldn't agree to meet someone for lunch in central London from a 9am start.

Are you driving into London or train? I think you'll regret committing to meet up if it means you rush the tour. You could easily spend 4-5hrs+ and then you've got to factor in the travel.
Couldn't you meet up later in the afternoon for early dinner?

We went on the fabulous MN tour and had the journey from hell to get there so arrived at the last admission. We were only there three hours and could easily have spent longer. There is so much to see. And if your DC like taking photos you'll need time because there are so many photo opportunities. You don't want to rush back to central London for lunch. Meet them for dinner or late tea and cake instead.

We spent about 4 hours in there and had a great time! It was fascinating. Only bit that spoiled it was the vastly overpriced gift shop which just took the sheen off the magic at the end but I suppose it's all about money at the end of the day! I wouldn't commit to a lunchtime meet up in London - you'll end up rushing and the studio is a fair way out of town. I'd go for a tea time arrangement instead.

We did the MN tour, spent 4 hours there, and felt that we hadn't had long enough. I wouldn't agree to meet up for lunch, tbh.

It's amazing!! Me and DP spent about 4 hours there, it would of been longer but we had a teatime slot and we were Abit shattered from travelling Sad I could of stayed easily for about 8 hours Grin don't commit to the lunch because I doubt you'll make it back for that time.

Thank you everyone. We are going with two teenagers. We're staying in the Travelodge in Watford, and getting the bus to the studios. I have decided that I don't want to commit to being in Central London by 1.30, as we don't really want to be constrained on time. Thanks for all your replies. I'm really looking forward to it now .

You could race through it in 4 hours but you will regret itSmile

It takes about 20 mins from the studio to watford junction, and then about 40 mins from watford to Euston, so I'd say an early dinner is more likely.

We also spent about 4 hours. I was going to post and say don't stay in the Travelodge Watford but realise that's too late. We found it awkward for terrible traffic congestion, parking and the extra beds they put in the room were dire with springs coming through. Hope you have better luck than we did. But you will love the studios. Best trip we have done with the kids in a while.

Had a great time at the studios on Monday. We spent three and a half hours there including a stop for coffee half way.
Glad we had the 9am slot, as although it was an early start , it meant that we had the rest of the day free.
We stayed at the Watford Travelodge, which was perfect for our needs.
