Blackpool in February..??

Am I mad..thinking of taking neice 14, and DS 6,4,1..and possibly staying at the big blue hotel..anyone been? Do want the kids to have fun and thought it might appeal to all the ages and perhaps an easy option? Worried about the cold though ( such a sap!)..obviously it would be better in the summer but looks like there is plenty to do in tower etc..
Thoughts from the experts???

i went to blackpool during february half term and met up with a friend and stayed in the lovely b+b that was owned by bubblerock.
(we were 2 women and 4 children aged 1,5,5.5 and 7)and we went for 3 nights.
Blackpool Tower was fabulous-spent a whole day in there and still didn't see everything...the circus was absolutely brilliant-get in the queue early and get your seats and then (if you need feeding or watering whilst you wait for the show to begin you can always pop out one at a time)
We took a Tram ride out to Bispham??and had gorgeous fish and chips in a cafe and then got a double decker bus back(i know the children are easily pleased!!)
We went to the swimming pool-the big one but can't remember what it's called.

There was definetly enough 'indoor things to do'
and on our last day...the children even had a donkey ride on the beach

We had a fab time

just a quick reply as have a bum waiting that needs changing just couldn't ignore your post. I live in Blackpool and the weather is dismal at mo and probably will still be in feb. I find it quite a depressing place in the winter. Not loads to do when the weathers bad. Pleasure beach will be no good in the rain, the tower is in my honest opinion over priced and pretty c**p. Apart from that there's not too much to do indoors. Gotta go, don't want to put you off or anything but really don't feel you'd have too much fun here this time of year!

Is the Big Blue Hotel by the Pleasure Beach?
The Pleasure Beach rides will be closed, won't they? Although the shows might be on?
The Tower is very good for a full day out.
If you stay by by the Pleasure Beach you're very near the Sandcastles pool with flumes etc.
It will be FREEZING!
Dr Who exhibition is there, but no good for very little ones.
Sealife Centre is OK if you're thrilled by starfish! (DS1 commented, age 6 "it's quite tricky for them to make fish interesting, isn't it?")
Have you tried the Pontins website? Bit naff, but lots of activities for all ages, and breakfast and evening meal is included.
We went a lot when the children were younger, as they loved it, and the accomodation was OK.

Link to pontins
It's less than 1 mile further along the coast than the Pleasure Beach. Tram stop is about 5 minute walk. Buses stop right outside it.
HTH.
