Props Pig world/New Forest

Talking about holidays next year DH thinks we should take DD to Peppa Pig world in Hampshire.

We're in Ireland so we'd probably take the ferry over. But what else is in the general area. When I think of New Forest the only thing I think of is ponies.

Southampton isn't far from Peppa pig world, maybe 20 min drive?

The new forest is huge, covering many small towns and villages. Lots of nice country pubs.

Peppa pig world is great for young children and the New Forest has lots of activities, walks, cycling, pony rides, boat trips to the Isle of Wight, great pubs, farm parks etc. Plus you're close to Bournemouth and Southampton and Dorset beaches.

DD would be almost 3 probably when we go.

Thanks for the advice - I'm liking the look of the Isle of Wight.

We live in south west Ireland in the country. We have farms (we live on one) and incredible scenery so looking doe something a bit different.

We went to Peppa Pig world and then drove down to Bournemouth (about 20 mins) for a few days. Lovely beaches and lots to drive to and see from there.

Bournemouth is only 20 mins away if the bloody spur roadworks have finished, but depending on when your looking to come next year they should be completed!

Portsmouth, Beaulieu, plenty of sandy beaches.

If you like good food, you might be interested in staying at www.thepighotel.com, the one near Brockenhurst.

Reasonably close to Peppa Pig world but also worth a stay in itself. Enjoy.

Salisbury isn't far either, not much there for little ones but it's a beautiful, small city. The cathedral is lovely and there's some lovely coffee shops and restaurants.

London is about 90 mins on the train so you've got all of that for a day trip if you're looking for less rural attractions.

If your dd is over 1m you could also go to Go Ape Junior at Moors Valley Country Park?

PPW is great, we've been a few times.

Hi there,

Have you thought about Christchurch? Lovely area with several caravan parks, Mudeford is great for crabbing and there are loads of beaches in the area. Peppa Pig World is about 30 mins drive away and it's an easy drive through Lyndhurst. Adventure Wonderland is 20 mins away, the towns of Southampton and Bournemouth are within half hour drive. Romsey Rapids is also worth checking out.

More googling to be done!! Thanks all - almost too much choice now!
We've been thinking about a long weekend in London as well but would probably fly there.
