Recommendations for a Christmas Break

Hi - we are thinking of going away for Christmas, perhaps 3 nights, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or in between Xmas and New Year.

We are a family of 3, with a 12 year old DD.

Any ideas? We are in the South East, would Devon or anywhere be good? Perhaps a cosy cottage? Or Lake District? Don't have a huge budget as we have a summer holiday booked, so something reasonably affordable but nice!

Any ideas would be welcome. We had a sad time last Christmas with a death in the family and just fancy getting away this year.

Thank you.

most cottages are going to be looking for a full week break either over Christmas or over new year. no one is going to want to turn a cottage round in between the two realistically. second to school summer hols is Christmas so would be useful to know your budget. I would think something like ??300 - ??400 should get you a cottage. only place I can recommend is HERE but not sure if they are open over this time and they are just in cornwall not devon. hope you find something to suit you all.
