Wet Weather Plans for London

We have just arrived for a week's holiday in Richmond with our three children (aged 2, 6 and 8) and the forecast looks like being wet throughout the week. We do not have a huge amount of money and had planned some lovely sight seeing: Buckingham Palace with Changing of the Guards, Big Ben, The Eye (only to look, not to ride) and walking along the south bank.
The girls want to go to the museums but can anyone recommend any other good ideas if the weather is really soggy?

Apparently, children go free into many Theatres during August. We have just arrived today and plan to do Natural History Museum and Hamleys tomorrow. I think the weather is meant to improve as the week goes on. I am boiling, so hot tonight.

Museum of London
Ride old style hop on hop of London bus
Get DLR and sit right at front so feel like train driver
Kew Gardens see big glass house then climbers and creepers
Take the tube just for experience
