Has anyone done this solo?

I'd like to have a crack at it this summer.

No, but know plenty about it! You will need your Wainwright guide book if you haven't already got it!

NO but DH has. Would you be stopping in B and Bs or are you thinking of carrying a tent with you? DH did it the hard way and carried everything, including his tent on his back. Oh and being an awkward so and so, he did it back to front so RHB to St Bees rather than the other way round...

Haven't done it solo; did it, crikey, 10 years ago, with now DH.

Carried all our own gear (didn't Sherpa it) but stayed in B&Bs - then went back every year for the next 6 years for a proper stay in the Royal Oak in Borrowdale as it was just so brilliant. It's a great walk and there were only a couple of less interesting days on the whole trip - the bit between the Dales and the North York Moors was a bit meh, but otherwise just a great thing to do.

If you are planning to stay in B&Bs you've left it a bit late to book for this summer possibly? Some places only have one or two options for accommodation so you do need to plan ahead.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think I can go this year now but its on my bucket list. There are many other beautiful walks.
