Anyone stayed at West Bay in Dorset?

Off to a Parkdean holiday park at West Bay. The beach is within walking distance, but have read that it is shingle not sand, although the photos all make it look like sand?

Not really bothered about going out and about the wider area, but looking for recommendations for eating out as my parents wont want to eat on site every night.

So if you have any tips on decent eating places, not too pricey, or boat trips or anything like that, all help gratefully received!

You will be close to Bridport ( if my geography is correct) there are lots of nice little cafes and restaurants there and tourist information office. If you get as far as Abbotsbury ( not far) the tea shop there with the lovely garden does good inexpensive lunches.

I hesitated to mention The Hive beach cafe. Expensive for main meals but in a lovely location for coffe and cakes in the morning.
