New Quay (Wales) in October

We have a cottage booked for October half term in New Quay, Wales. Just had a quick search and not really finding much close by to entertain a 2yo DD and 4yo DS. Can anyone help? Looking particularly for wet/cold weather activities in case weather is not great... thanks :-)

We go to New Quay every year and stay on the Haven site in a caravan. In New Quay village there are dolphin viewing boats, a reptile centre, a lovely beach. It really is amazing there. We have also visited the rheidol railway at Aberystwyth and taking it to Devil's Bridge.

We just got back from New Quay and there's a good soft play centre a few mins from the Haven site.

I would pack your wet weather gear and try to get out and about anyway. Life there is very much based on the outdoors. There is a cinema in Aberystwyth...

We have stayed near New Quay in October a couple of times. The beach is nice & we have built sand castles there in October before! There are dolphin spotting boats which go out regularly. If you go to Aberystwyth, there's the Vale of Rheidol railway, a swimming pool/leisure centre & the cliff railway. Aberaeron is also a pretty village with a harbour. Take lots of warm clothes & you'll be fine out and about.

Fantasy farm Park is somewhere I've always noticed & meant to visit but never have. It's on the main road between New Quay & Aberystwyth.

We stay regularly in this area with DC agree you need to plan for all weather but places our kids love Cardigan wildlife centre they have great childrens activities in holidays, llangrannog beach lovely fish and chips at the beach hut there, crabbing at aberaeron with lunch at the harbourmaster, trip to folly farm is about an hour and totally worth it also bluestone blue lagoon if really wet. Newquay itself boat trip brilliant we saw loads of dolphins two weeks ago and must visit cafe called the bosuns locker for amazing cake and lunches.
If your kids like geocaching there are loads of great ones nearby. There might be seals pupping at cymtudu beach very near newquay. Also nice is newport just in Pembrokeshire but not far. I'll stop now but could go on as we love it around there already booked for next year
