Went to London today and I swear the beefeater man we kept coming across was the rudest man ever.
My mum and gran are registered disabled. Basically, ones really old and has trouble moving due to arthritis. The other is less old and falling apart and has a recent new hip.
They asked if we could cut the queue or wait somewhere else while the able members of the family queued. He said he could get us all in the exit (for the Crown Jewels) which we did. while they were finding a guy yo talk to and waiting I had almost got the front so completely pointless exercise
Anyway, this meant that we had to walk twice the distance as we were walking to the beginning and then back. My favourite comments of his are...
"Well I had a new hip seven weeks ago and if I can walk around so can you"
Not waiting for my very slow grandma to come to the exit and saying "well you did insist that I help you so you'll have to go at my speed"
After we insisted on him waiting
"I wouldn't be a burden to my family like that, I'd shoot myself first"
And other less offensive/memorable comments.
Then it was closing time and they started kicking us out. Fine. My gran was desperate for a wee and wouldn't get chance to go until we got about 40 mins worth of underground away from the tower. He had closed the toilets and wouldn't let her go. We asked someone else if there were other toilets and they said yes and only shouted over to bloody grumpelstiltskin to show us where they were. He told my gran to be quick. At close to eighty, nothing is quick. Then I decided it was best for me, as did my aunty. We apologised profusely and said we will be quick. He actually started shouting at us saying it wasn't acceptable and we needed to get out. It wasn't what he agreed to etc.
If you don't like the public, you wouldn't work with them would you?
The restaurant was also really shit with rude and lazy staff but nothing compared to him.
Is this anyone else's experience?
