Nice but not too pricy holiday short drive from South Wales anyone?

This really.

We'd love to have a short break or ideally a week away somewhere this summer with DS who will be 3.5 and dd 1.

It has to be during school hols as I'm a teacher.

We don't want to be in the car for hours with the dc at this age. West Wales would be lovely. We've looked into bluestone which looks great but pricy. A nice holiday cottage would be fine too. Just somewhere for a change of scenery that isn't going to cost the earth as I haven't been back at work very long so the finances need rebuilding!

Our last holiday was a cruise and we loved this even though it was different to our previous cruise with 18 month DS in tow! But financially that won't be happening for years now!

You might be better looking at websites like holiday cottages 3 you and holiday cottages uk. You can narrow down price and location and then chose somewhere according to that. You can google stuff to do in the area if you fibd a cottage you like within budget.

Why don't you get the ferry over to Ireland?

Thanks for replies! I will look at those cottage sites. Getting the ferry to Ireland hadn't even occurred to me!

Pembroke is a great place in west wales, with great caravans for not that expensive holidays, there's also his total villages and big pit etc not that far.

tenby, lydstep, Saundersfoot. tenby is great for caravan parks and a lot of nice hotels/b&bs. bluestone is great , just look out for deals online and go midweek in low season .

newquay is nice too
