ISLE OF MAN with baby & toddler

We are having a long weekend on the isle of Man in July (for a family wedding)
We will go on the car ferry and will have our 2.5 year old and 12 month old DD's with us.

Can anyone recommend good places to stay or any outings / sights etc we must see with 2 toddlers in tow?

Is the Ferry (from liverpool) "child friendly" at all? is there a small childrens play area for example? i couldnt see any mention of one on the website

Two excellent castles - Peel is easier with a toddler as it's mainly outdoors so lots of space to run around. Castle Rushen is more difficult to get around - lots of stairs and uneven floors. Silver dale is a nice children's park, glen and boating lake in the south. Mooragh park in Ramsey is very well set up for toddlers with outdoor play. If the weather is good the best family beaches are Peel and Port Erin. The ferry has a very small kids play area - not enough space for many children, and you may want to bring food on board as it can be extortionate. If the weather is good it's a fantastic place and the Ice cream in peel is famous!

The ferry isn't very child friendly I'm afraid. However there are places with a bit more space around you which makes things a bit easier. I think the plans are online if you know which one you are travelling on
