any recommendations pls? i know this is a totally vague question but i am after a decent hotel, but not mega bucks, within a couple of hours drive of london. last year we stayed at a great hotel with 2 interconnecting rooms for us and DC aged 5 and 3.

can anyone recommend something similar, ideally with things nearby for DC.

thanks!

You could search www.babyfriendlyboltholes.co.uk/
You can search on a map too.
I've used it myself but not near London.

There are some nice places in the New Forest. We've stayed at Elmer's Court and Chewton Glen.

This is lovely - family friendly although lots of couples too. Huge garden.

Not sure they have any connecting but they do have larger rooms which they say are suitable or families.

Hotel Terravina in he New Forest is nice too, it's owned by the people who founded (and sold) Hotel Du Vin. No connecting rooms though.

The Blundson House Hotel is good for families. The rooms in the pavillon are very nice and they have interconnecting rooms. Short drive to cotswolds, in the grounds nice play area.
