Dorset - nice hotel or B&B suggestions

Can anyone help??

We're heading down to Dorset (Dorchester way) during the Easter break and would love to find a really nice place to stay for a night or two with a family room.

It can be anywhere within a 25 mile radius of Bovington - so Poole, Dorchester, Blandford Forum, Weymouth etc spring to mind but we are open to suggestions as we have the car.

Red Lion - Wareham - 10 minutes to Bovington - nice small town - there will be a duck race on - 10 minutes to Corfe Castle as well

Theres a lovely b&b run by very earthy friendly people and reasonably priced near the sea at Alum Chime, called Thanet house. Grin

We have stayed here as a couple www.fernheadguesthouse.co.uk/index.html
but it seems to have rave reviews for families too

blackandgold Is Fernhead quite private? Looks a good little place but I was wondering if it just felt like you were upstairs in someone's house as doesn't appear v big.

pink90 Red Lion looks great too but I read on Tripadvisor that the bells ring all night. Were you bothered?

I used to live in wareham and yes you can hear the bells. If you want a friendly b&b I know a lovely one in Winfrith Newburgh which is 2 miles from lulworth cove. It's called wynards farm and has a website.

I was going to recommend FiveGoMad - also known as Fanny (because there's always an Aunt fanny in Enid Blyton books)
