Can anyone recommend a beach house that has direct beach access, anywhere in UK, including Scottish islands?

What's your budget? I know of a great one on the South Coast but it's quite expensive!
Babyfriendlyboltholes has a few though that are lovely (and you don't have to have children to appreciate them - in fact I'm amazed that some of them let to families at all as they are so immaculate!)

Budget flexible. Not going abroad so money saved on flights can go into accommodation - and I do like a bit of luxury Grin. We've got two mental kids , 6 and 2.

loulou that is gorgeous. I am actually in love with that beach house.

loulou, that is beautiful but, sadly, out of budget. I may look at it again from time to time and stare wistfully, a little like thefirstmrsrochester.

Pendipity - sorry! They have been rather wild boiserous today with too much rain, too many sweets and not enough space to let off steam.

Thanks, folks.

The National Trust for Scotland has a couple - one at Rockcliffe which is in Dumfries and Galloway (sw Scotland) looks like its got a terrific position. haven't stayed but have would like to.
Arran has lots of holiday accommodation with beach/shore access. I haven't any specific recommendations but google and he shall find! Arran is a great holiday destination wi something for everyone.

Camber Sands is a beautiful beach and there are lots of nice houses close to the beach, although most are across a road. Bramley and Teal have lots - we stayed at 21 The Dunes and it was marvellous.

I love the beach there, here's hoping we get a better summer next year to make the most of it!

Have considered this for us as the beach is fab //www.pennasville.co.uk. You would be right on the beach but it's a bit of a trek to the actual shore. Lots of dunes and a stream to play in. My five and two year old love it.

Harvest Moon holidays, east lothian. You stay in a safari tent with a woodburner/range and proper beds, and it's car free in the actual camp area. Beach is 2 mins over the dunes, only potential problem is the Scottish weather! Great area though. Access to Edinburgh by road = 45 mins if weather too appalling.

Babyfriendlyboltholes.co.uk is a great place to start, lots of lovely luxury properties near the seaside, we always tend to return to the North Coast in Cornwall as the kids love surfing, been to Merlin Farm a few times as only a short walk to Mawgan Porth Beach //www.merlin-farm-cottages-cornwall.co.uk

I would love something like this but we're tied to the Northern half of the country - any suggestions for a beach house-type place in the North East/West and/or possibly North Wales would be much appreciated Grin
