So, they seem to be the latest seasonal fave, but are they really worth all that? someone from another site posted some You Tube links for us to take a nosey at, compared with the advert put out by Go Go themselves, here..
home video number 1
home video number 2
and the advert itself...
here...
seems they have speeded up the hamsters for the sake of the ad. Apparantly they don;t move this fast, get stuck and ergo... kids get bored with toy.
I sooooooooooo wish I hadnt seen these links, but heck, its making me think twice about them. However, anyone got some good things to say? Will have to go back to thinking board for Christmas pressies if they really are pants!
Tehy look like the perfect pet...and the kids will be bored with it my boxing day (actually lunch time Christmas day) just like they would with a real hamster.
Dd wants these, i should never have let her watch nick jr instead my only cbeebies rule....i have told my parents to buy her sylvanian families
Buit wrt original advert would you really want mechanical hamsters on crack whizzing round your house? Thats got to be a recipe for disaster

Well i just got one for my daughter for her 11th birthday and she loves it! So does her 12 yr old sister and i now have orders to buy all the accessories for it and more hamsters for Christmas
I'm sure some girls their age would think they are way too old for them but my girls have both had real hamsters in the past and frankly i'm sick of burying the things, so this suits all of us

a-Haaaaaaaaaaa, someone in favour. Please doooooooooo keep em comin' !! there has to be more folkies that like em. awlright awlright, any more negs then you have to back it up with an alternative Christmas pressie suggestion!
You choose!
I have reserved the fun house gift set for DD1. No hamsters in sock though! Hoping they have some in by the time i collect as the hamster is 1/2 price with the fun house! No idea what they will be like tbh. Probably crap like the i love ponies pony that i bought her last year!
They look pretty dull even from the advert, to be honest (had heard of them before but had no idea what they were, so was glad to see links on your post).
The home videos do make them look dull and crap rather than just dull, though.
What age are your offspring, if you want alternatives?

boy 6 yrs (only just this Wednesday gone.. awwrrr..) and girl will be 4 a couple of days before Christmas.
DS so far has a Transformer bumblebee helmet, and DD has a Playskool one, even though they are for boys supposedly, she will just love putting the helmet on and chatting into the mike. Other than that, very little else, and money will be coming from reley's, so gotta get a wiggle on.
Oh dear.
Dd2 mentioned these the other day, glad I have seen them.

Orf to bed, will pick up thread in the morrow. thanks ladies, t'as been fun.
Is your DS into Ben 10? DS is desperate for a Deluxe Omnitrix (and for anything else Ben 10-branded, but I am managing expectations on that).
Now I don't feel like a mean mummy for ignoring DD's requests for one of these for either her birthday or Christmas.
My initial reaction when she asked was, nasty plastic tat that's going to take up way too much room and continuely need building and taking apart - sounds too much like hard work.
But now I know they don't even perform well, I'm definitely going to stick to my guns.
Am particularly impressed with link #2 and the hamster that seemed to suddenly keel over and die for no obvious reason.

Just got him the BEN 10 chamber thingy for his Bday, and oh yes, he has a Ben 10 ready bed coming for Christmas too; so far for his birthday (had his party today) seems like the Bionicle leg thingies are popular, he must have had about 5 of those. Luckily they are all different
but he loves them
the other thing my kids really love, get this! forget all those expensive stupidly ridiculously lets get a bridging loan out type of presents, my two love colouring! they spend more time colouring than with ANY of their other toys. just like a cardboard box really!

piprabbit,
re hammy falling over. I thought that too! I wonder how many 'takes' the promotional crew had to do when filming that ad. LOL

leg??? Mmmmm.... lets try Lego!!
Lego-wise, I am geeking out over this although I can't see how much it's likely to cost (obviously will depend on what you are building, but presumably there's a not-inconsiderable markup as well).
