'Talking Angela' App on 'Playstore' WARNING!!

Amarie123 · 19/02/2014 10:43

In response to a recent message placed on my Facebook newsfeed, regarding the above application I decided to look at the apps my nine year old daughter had on her tablet and phone.

The Talking Cat Angelica App looks fun, you talk and it imitates your voice. however at the bottom of the App it asks simple questions like 'what are you doing' with an arrow reply symbol. My daughter told me that she had replied to this question and thought nothing of it.....however this was not the case for a family in Scotland...please look on my 'Facebook Anne-Marie Ross'....
The Children were asked personal questions about themselves and their family and friends as well as their school address....the police were called and are still investigating the matter.
Unfortunately, there are many more games like this which I found.....talking ginger, talking ginger's birthday, talking Tom's love letters.....
So please check all your children's tablets, laptops and mobile phones and delete these application!!!!!

Oh my god do people just believe every stupid story that is posted on FB without thinking it might be an idea to actually check it out before reporting it as a warning

Tantrums, it's probably the same people who post shite saying 'Like and share if you're against child abuse'. Hmm

do people not check snopes or even just do a bit of googling before spreading this all over facebook and twitter? it's so obvious it's a hoax.

Talking Angela, Talking Ginger, Talking Ginger's Birthday, Talking Tom's Love Letters...

...You forgot 'Talking Bollocks'.

Niper it seems obvious to me that it's a hoax bit ot really never fails to amaze me how many seemingly intelligent people share this shit.
I think one of my fave ones was one about the little coloured mark in the bottom of toothpaste tubes.
Black meant full of chemicals, blue meant less chemicals and green meant hardly any chemicals. I was open mouthed that anyone could think that was true and was also boggled as to what people thought things were made of.

So for example, when I talked to my DH about his trip to Thailand, it wasn't because he is a poor naive soul - it was because he is a man and has male privilege and sometimes needs that pointed out to him. So that he can have a think about stuff he doesn't usually need to think about what with being a man in male dominated society and all...

this isnt even a new hoax as it first appeared in 2013

nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2014/02/14/the-talking-angela-chain-letter-three-tips-to-avoid-facebook-hoaxes/

although I had to phone the school yesterday after receiving a text from them about the 'dangers' of talking angela - by the time I phoned to tell them it was a hoax they had already looked into it. Surely they should have done that before sending the text!!

This hoax also makes me laugh because it says it's from some lady in Scotland, who then further down the post, hopes that the police in ocean county can do something about it. Not sure there's an ocean county in Scotland ;)
