vTech Gadget the Robot for 5 year old = good/bad idea?

Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone could give a view on whether the Gadget the Robot is a good pressie for a (nearly) 5 year old.

DS1 is CERTAIN that he will love it, but I'm thinking £40 is a lot of money and he'll probably be bored of it soon...

And any other recommendations for pressies for a 5 year old? Just checking I'm not missing a trick...
