Best play table

Any recommendations on the best play table? I'm looking for one for mainly Lego and train set but would be handy to also use for playmobil, sylvannian families etc. I was comparing GLTC one, with Melissa and doug, or the toys r us imagination universe one. Preferably would like to have a flip top so could glue the lego plates on one side and use the other for trains etc. Which is best? Or would you recommend another type?

We have two of these trofast table from ikea which we have pushed together to make a square table with the added bonus of lots of storage space underneath. Lots of play tables weren't anywhere as big as this when I looked, and the extra space is handy for bigger train layouts. DS loves lego, but tbh, he doesn't use the base plates we have very often, so for us, one of the tables with a lego board would have been a waste of money.

We actually already have one storage unit like that. Did you put anything on top to make it totally flat? Or is it ok just sticking the two units together?

No, I haven't put anything on the top - I kept meaning too but never got round to it. It works fine though. There is a tiny gap between them that the absolute tiniest pieces of playmobil could squeeze through but we've not really had a problem.

I'd really consider it vs a play table if you have the space. I thought the dimensions of many play tables were actually quite small. I'd never be able to fit DS's playmobil zoo or lego fire toys comfortably onto some of the ones I looked at and the bigger tables seemed very expensive for what they are.

That sounds great-thanks very much. It would definately have more storage than any of the tables I've looked at, so will hopefully solve two problems at the same time! Super cheap as we'll only need to buy one other unit. Thanks again.
