Naughty Furby - help!

Furby started off being really cute and loveable but has now turned into some kind of pervy old man. His voice has gone really deep, he is burping/farting constantly, has stopped being affectionate and seems to be leering at me. edited by MNHQ

I think he's great but my 7 year old ds wants 'nice' furby back. Does anyone know if there's anything we can do to get our original Furby back?

Be nice to it with lots of touching and cuddles and affection.

Put the furby by music for 5 to 10 mins and it will turn into pop star furby, or stroke its head and back (according to dd and ds who have furbies), and keep on going. It will protest and say no no, but keep going and it will change into sweet furby.

If you feed it too much it turns into that kind of impolite furby, also if you pull it's tail or flip it upside down too often. You have to play with it nicely to keep it sweet.

You have to keep on going to get it to change - at least 5 mins of repeated action.

My dd's furby keeps telling me "seriously, like you know. blah blah blah". Whenever I ask dd to do something she just holds up the furby, who then is cheeky to me. Kind of bad behaviour by proxy. I seriously want to throw the possessed little fucker in the bin. "DD can you please help me wash up and please can you pour your bro a drink?" I get in reply "blah blah blah, seriously?" from the fucking furby!

Everytime I change it back to sweet furby or pop star, she makes sure it reverts to the gossip/teenage American girl attitude. Fucking furby.

Oh that makes it sense, we only found out how to feed him yesterday, so ds went a bit mad feeding him.

Our Furby keeps saying "noo noo" which is our word for vagina. Everytime I pick him up he growls and says "mmmmmmm noo noo" and then does an evil laugh.

Great tips, thank you. DS was complaining and said "I don't like Furby like this" to which Furby sniggered and said "tough!".

Oh, now I want a Furby!

I had one years ago that just burbled to itself, it was such a disappointment. Perhaps I could sneak a new one in and pretend it was my old one ......

I threatened ours with removal of batteries, it laughed and said "forget it". They are scary little beggers.

www.furby.com/en_US/furbish-dictionary This helped a lot before I worked out how to use the app to translate. They really do respond if you speak to it in furbish. If it helps "noo noo" means "talk". You can find out its name if you tickle it three times and then stroke its back, it asks in furbish what you want to know, and will tell you its name if you ask, according to dd. Playing hide and seek with them is also fun. They also like "peek a boo".

Sheila, go on, get one. They are very funny.

I've been on the website but it's only got a small amount of information on there. Furby even says stuff that's not included in the online dictionary.

Some great tips, thanks! CatKitson how do you play hide and seek with it? Or do you mean you just hide them and wait for them to talk for dcs to find them?

SheilaWheeler Furby kept ds, myself, my mum and sister entertained all day yesterday, and we all want our own one!

Ours died yesterday. I bought it from tesco but not in our town. Will my local tesco help. I bought it on credit card so I should be ok for a refund anyway, but I'm not sure what the easiest way to go about it.
Very disappointed DGS!!!

To play peek a boo, cover the furby's eyes, and then uncover. They react to this and it helps them stay "sweet".

I will sound like a nutter, but to play "simon says" tickle Furby's tummy, pet it on the back, clap your hands and cover its eyes. Then you just have to do what it asks you to do. You are rewarded by funny signs in its eyes, and it getting quite excited.

Hide and seek needs two people. One person to hide it, one to find. To start the game cover then uncover Furby's eyes four times. Furby will say its name then tell you to hide it. It makes little noises to help the finder locate it.

You can also teach it to give kisses apparently. Ill ask dd if you want to know more. She is the one trying to tame the little fucker atm.

We have two, and they talk to each other, even when I shut them in the cupboard to try and make them "sleep". The synchronised dancing is very cute.

Im still not sure if Im charmed or offended by them.

My stepdaughters evil little fucker seems to wink at me all the time and say mmmmmm mmmmmm. I refuse to be in the same room. I think they are like gremlins and will eventually take over the world. Scary.

Whethergirl, if you have an ipad or ipod touch there is a translation app which helps a lot. You can also feed them from it apparently.

Wrinkly, they remind me of gremlins too. I take out the batteries at night time when the dc are sleeping paranoid

YNK - did you do a refresh after new batteries? Friend has had two "die" today and new batteries didn't help until they did the refresh button. Think you have to hold it down for a few seconds. It's personality doesn't change when you do this.

These is a full restart too which takes it back to its original settings - google.

Thanks Hulababy. I have a new one now, thats definately broken. It makes a quiet 'noise' and needs refreshed after about 10 seconds, so it's going back too. I'm fed up and going to get my DS something else!

YNK, we thought our dd's furby had died but you have to put new batteries in and press the reset button for about a minute.

We have two furbies, and they spend ages talking to each other. I really like the evil one and frequently overfeed DD1 furby to make him evil!

I think their creepy, spent ages trying to get one for my dd1 (whos 3) for xmas. Then i got one and she played with it for 30 mins on xmas day and that was it. It developed a scary personality lol. It had flames on it's eyes and had a wicked laugh. Their personality is shaped by how u play with it. My daughter threw it about lol. I agree tho, really expensive

You can send all unwanted furbies to me Grin.
I shall start a furbie colony, where we will all live in peace and harmony while we plot how to take over the world.
