Short Legs - Long Boots??

Does anyone have experience of getting off the shelf long boots altered to fit short legs? I'm 5'8" and size 6 shoes but seem to be at least 4cm short for long boots in my knee to floor measurement!

I'd love long boots but would take 1/2 chaps (also too long!) if they're easier to alter. I wondered if a saddler could make a decent job.

Any ideas gratefully received!!

As a fellow short-of-leg-type I feel your pain!
Have you looked here?

I've not used them but they appear to do a variety of lengths.

they do sort of sink after a while, am approaching 5'4 (haha, will arrive any day now) but have long torso/short legs (about 28" inside leg) and new tall boots start off digging into my knee cap before working their way down a bit

have some work-a-day Toggi yard/riding boots which are quite sensibly proportioned but not that smart and have disadvantage of screaming 'poor girl's Dubarry boots' ! but they are about £100 instead of £300

or do you want something smarter?

Erm, panic over! I am relieved to report that having actually gone to a shop and tried some on rather than trying to use the internet sizing to measure my legs, not only do mountain horse high riders fit - but I don't even need the short length!! Duh!
