Mum/baby friendly yards south of Macclesfield?

I'm pregnant with my first child, due in March 2010. I currently have my horse on full livery with someone else riding him which works very well at the moment, he is kept fit and is well looked after (though the arrangement is costing me a fortune...) whilst I concentrate on growing a baby.

The current yard, whilst absolutely fab in most respects is, however, a good 30 mins drive from our house (I chose it a couple of years ago as it was close to my work) and I am thinking that this will be too far when the baby arrives and I will, therefore, need a new place for my horse. I have been trying to find a new yard nearer to home but currently drawing a blank...

Does anyone know of any mum/baby friendly yards south of Macclesfield? I am an easy going happy hacker, clean and tidy and always pay my bills on time. My horse is a 15hh laid back cob gelding who's never any trouble and gets on well with all people and horses. We're not looking for luxury or even a stable (my horse could live out as he's a tough little fella) but would need some help with the jobs as I feel having a new baby and going on DIY livery may be pushing things too far... Menage would be great (floodlit even better) but again is not essential. Nice people and good hacking would be a bonus.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi May, Congratulations!

I am south of Macclesfield but a lot further south than you were thinking of but giving this a hopeful bump for you.

Also, just a thought, but do you really need to move yet? I would wait until the baby is a few years months old then sort something out if you need to. I know a 30 min drive is a pain but at least you know he's looked after well. If you can afford to keep him where he is and you're happy with it then probably best to leave alone just now.

Although, hopefully someone will come along with a recommendation.
