I've just agreed to help a friend with her two tbs while she is away. This involves visiting am and pm to feed, groom, turn out, muck out, poo pick and then in eve bring in rug and feed. I'd like to save as much time as poss. ( as I'm inexperienced and v slow!) so what order do you think I need to do these jobs in to save time?

I also have to do haynets, pick feet, bandage feet overnight/ over reach boots for turn out.

Feed when you arrive. Chuck them out. Muck out, make up evening feeds and hay and do stable waters. Poo pick field and check field water. At bringing in time quick groom, feet, bandage before rugging, tea in stable job done.

We would do similar ie turn out straight away (we don't put any boots on but you'd do as instructed) and then muck out, soak hay and do waters. Then in the afternoon (if we had time) poo pick. Before dark we'd then get them in, tie them up for grooming, feet picked out etc and night rugs on. Check for any cuts/grazes etc which may need purple spray etc. We would then put them in with hay and feed.

I give them the morning feed, and then poo pick whilst they eat. Change rugs and turn out. Remove haynets, feed and water buckets from stable. Clean buckets and leave upside down to dry. Muck out (putting bedding up against back wall and sweeping out floor to allow it to air during the day). Fill haynets up on the way back from emptying first barrow load and wheel them back to stable (to avoid dropping hay everywhere). Final sweep up of yard and empty barrows. Return full water bucket to stable. Make up feed in clean dry buckets (leaving any carrots/apples out to be cut up just before serving), cover for later and store in feed room.

Come back to the yard later. Pull down and fluff up bedding. Finish making up feed and put in stable. Bring horse in and tie up outside. Groom, change rugs, pick out feed into bucket, bandage etc. Put in stable. Double check both top and bottom bolt are fastened. Sweep up if necessary. Turn off lights!
