I sold my horse, question about payment

So I sold the enormous spotty thing, she comes to collect him today. She has paid by bank transfer at my request, which she did last night, and has forwarded me a screen shot of the transfer confirmation from her online banking screen with my bank details on it and the amount. Its not in my account yet, but says it will be today. Is that good enough for me to allow her to collect him this morning? Can she reverse the payment?

Fast transfers with my bank are cleared within 2 hours, no money no horse IMO

I've checked the sort code and acc no against the account no verifier, and the details tally up with where she has told me she is from, so that part looks legit. HSBC (her bank) and Cooperative bank (my bank) both use fps and the amount is well within the limit shown by HSBC on the Internet, so I don't understand why its not showing as being paid into my account yet. Ill have to ring the bank first thing

Just rung them, apparently it can take between 2 hours and 1 working day to hit my account, but they can't see it until it actually lands in my account. she did say though that providing the bank details are correct on the transfer (they are) and it says the payment is processing (it does) then the payment will be made into my account and the person who has sent it cannot now stop the transfer.

Is the amount over £1000? If so FPI doesn't always work, so you could be looking at 3 working days

Its just over 3000. Woman at my bank said it will be here tomorrow latest. I'm not overly fussed even if its 3 days just as long as I know its def coming and that she can't reverse it once she has collected the horse

It could be something to do with the co-op banking system. My dad uses them and he was telling me if he made a payment at the weekend it wouldn't go through until Monday. Seems ridiculous when with other banks I can make a transfer at 2am on a Sunday morning and it goes through straight away. That aside I still wouldn't let the horse go without definitely having the money in your account just in case!

No money, no horse here, I'm afraid. If you were concerned enough about payment to ask for a bank transfer, I'd want to be seeing the money in the bank before letting the horse out of sight. I would have not have expected to be able to send money on a Saturday night and hoped for it to be there by Sunday morning for certain.

Tbh I'm going to have to let him go realistically, she is working all week and its my daughters christening next weekend, so ill end up having to fork out for 2 weeks of extra livery otherwise.

Thankfully it cleared just before I set off :0) he's all gone to his new home, just need to sell all his stuff that didn't go with him, if I do get another it won't be 17.2 and needing a 7ft rug
