Royal highland show

Any pony people going? I'm going and I'm showing but not a pony, I'm showing my sheeps!

None of my gang, 2 Connemaras and a highland, are going, one connie is 2 so she would be little in the 2&3yo class, the highland is a fab worker but not ready for hoys quals yet, another connie is a quirky pain in the fucking arse but too beautiful to give up on girl and not quite ready for the atmosphere!

Anyone else going and what are you doing?

One day..... looks disbelivingly at the deamon pony one day....

Twattybollocks · 30/05/2013 19:07

I'm supposed to be doing the hoys qualifier with spotty but he's lame and been turned away for a couple of months. Bang goes my bloody show season again!

Butkin · 30/05/2013 21:46

Too far for us. We're off to Rutland on Sunday though.

Mrmonkey · 31/05/2013 22:42

Not this year it falls in the same week as Cheshire and Lincoln and the judges weren't good enough to drive all that way for. We have south of england next weekend then 3 counties, Cheshire and Lincoln and somewhere in that we need to get the connies out.
I'm so sorry your horse is lame it's a horrible thing to happen, have you tried getting your entries back?
Good luck at Rutland, is it your last Ri?

Pinkponiesrock · 31/05/2013 23:00

Ooohhhh you have connies :) details please, love my conns I do!

I have a novice called Holnest Corrig Cuan who is by Shipton Teasel, he is destined to be a WHP and we hope he will measure 133. My other one is Fredericksminde Chimera he is 16 now and the most talented pony I have ever sat on unfortunately he doesn't choose to use this talent unless on the hunting field! I sat on him yesterday for the first time in almost 2 years and we are going to have one last try with him, if not he will stay as a minder to the youngsters in the summer and he will hunt again in the winter.
What have you got?

Pinkponiesrock · 01/06/2013 14:20

I have an ancient broodmare who is Irish bred, Grange Starling, by Grange bobbing sparrow x grey rock lucky star, very old fashioned looking girl.
A young broodmare Drummore Kerry by Tiercel woodman out of a Castlestrange mare, just starting her under saddle and she is being very good :)
A 2yo out of the Grange mare by Skellorn Rainman (Skellorn Harrison) and she is just fab.
Just sold 2 yearlings from each of the mares, the Grange one to Ardbear Spirit and the Drummore one to Western Armada. We bred under Dunnottar however these 3 are the total sum of my breeding so far but 3 fillies from 3 foals is good going!
Had a few other connies over the years, a bit of an addict!
Got a highland too who is lovely but not quite on a par with the c

MrMonkey - yes Rutland is our last RI - no pressure then (poor DD...)!

We're entered in Hoys qualifiers at South of England and Lincoln but they will depend on what happens tomorrow. If we don't qualify for RI (and we're probably the best pony not to have done!) then we may come down a notch and go to some Summer Champ qualifiers instead so that we can go in all the classes at the Champs.

We were keen to go to South of England but 8am class means leaving before 4am for us...

Mrmonkey · 01/06/2013 22:13

That is early! Mine class isn't till 2.15 so a late one for us. Good luck at Rutland I hope it works out ok. Sometimes putting all the pressure on and just doing the hoys qualifiers can get a bit disheartening as although any place is great a red rosette is sometimes a massive confidence boost.

Butkin · 02/06/2013 20:37

No luck today MrMonkey - tongue over the bit in the go-round! However DD persevered and did a nice show after DW jumped in the ring and fixed the problem mid class (we knew we were doomed then...)

May still go to South of England but probably more likely to go and try a BSPS area show instead to calm things down a little.

Mrmonkey · 03/06/2013 08:30

I'm so sorry Butkin I hate it when things like that happen. Is there much on near you instead of S of E? We have NPS area 7 at Bury farm at the end of June with lots of classes maybe that would be an idea?

Butkin · 03/06/2013 10:55

We like Bury Farm and always go to the Spring show there. However 7 is on 30th June we'll probably go to NPS 20 the day before instead. Area 7 only has a mixed height SP class whereas Area 20 has mixed height novice (if we're still trying to keep her novice status for BSPS Champs) and a 128 class. Paul Brightwell judging SPs both days.

takingachance · 04/06/2013 10:15

We're going to the RHS with our lead rein show pony :-) First time we have done such a big show, so very excited!! x

Butkin · 04/06/2013 10:56

Well done Takingachance - presume you mean RIHS (guess he isn't going to a gardening show!). You'll have a great time - just hope for good weather! Where did you qualify and what is your ponies name?

takingachance · 04/06/2013 16:52

Hi Butkin not the RIHS unfortunately as we haven't made it to any of those qualifiers this year. It's the Royal Highland Show we're going to Smile
Pony is Amesbury Via Las Vegas, aka Elvis, and we love him!!

Mirage · 04/06/2013 17:05

Oh no Butkin what a shame. We didn't go but my parents did and had a lovely day.

Good Luck taking a chance.Amesbury ponies are lovely,we very nearly ended up with Amesbury Savannah last year.

Butkin · 05/06/2013 10:10

We know Elvis by sight! He used to be down our neck of the woods with the Lees and we watched him do the LRSP and LRSHP at South Suffolk last year. He is really just a LRSP and is a lovely pony. You'll do really well with him.

takingachance · 05/06/2013 12:14

Aww, thank you Butkin and Mirage , we fell in love with him when we met him and he has certainly done well so far Smile

salemsparklys · 14/06/2013 13:22

Gomez · 15/06/2013 00:20

Gomez · 15/06/2013 00:25

Pinkponiesrock · 17/06/2013 23:35

Have you, how exciting!! Dolly as we call her is the nicest pony you could ever meet. What is your pony called? She is 22 now but you wouldn't know it!

Hydehill Heavens Above (Tinkerbelle) just turned 10 Smile

Isn't it such a small world.

Pinkponiesrock · 18/06/2013 21:38

I thought it might be Tinky :) I didn't have anything to do with her but I've know about her and spoken to the person who broke her. She is a lovely lovely mare. I have a load of pictures from when she was younger if you would like me to send them on to you.

OP posts:
Gomez · 18/06/2013 22:00

Oh yes please that would be super. DD1 would be so chuffed. Can you PM me and I'll send my email address?

Tinky is fabulous, super well-schooled we just need to keep that up Grin
