My 4 are living out, but come in every day to be fed rug check etc. Went to get them in today and 2 barged past me, I wasn't too worried as I thought they would just go into the barn for their feed, no, the buggers took off down the drive, over the road and straight into lady Mucks garden opposite, I grabbed extra head collars and got them out of there within 5 minutes, but they have still left some lovely hoof prints in her lawn I have a history with this woman, she usually keeps her gate shut, so her workmen park in my gateway (farm so obviously I don't need to get access ).
I have been over and apologised, but I suspect she will be thinking of suing and generally making my life hell. I have BHS insurance so not the end of the world, but I could do without this
I'm not sure any solicitor would advise a client to sue over a few hoof prints. Can you not tread the divots in and buy her a box of grass seed/chocolates? I'd be very happy if I got chocolates for a couple of hoof prints on my lawn.
