Mock hunt, is it very formal dress code?

Thanks only just seen replies to this. I am looking at a second hand showing jacket tomorrow, blue I think, my hat is black, will that look awful? Also need to get some black boots.

Our local riding club do mock hunts and to be honest people turn up in all sorts. Not nearly as strict as proper hunts. Its nice to make an effort and look smart but you don't even need to plait.
Black/navy wool jacket would be correct but hacking or show jacket is fine. Have fun!

hacking jacket and boots I think

I expect they'll wear ratcatcher which is a tweed jacket, hair in a net, and should be a stock and long boots and plaited horse. But I don't know your yard - ask the YO?

My yard are doing a mock hunt, I'd really like to go. I've never hunted mock or otherwise. I know there is a big etiquette thing for proper hunting, would it be the same for a mock hunt? None of my stuff is particularly smart and I don't even own a pair of black boots. I don't want to go and stick out like a sore thumb!
