Am a very proud mum,

DS went clear x-country/ hunter trial on his new horse, 1st time ever clear on any pony And WON.

He thought he was too fast but was 20sec of the bogey time and 20sec ahead of 2nd.

....but I hate him doing x-country, I worry so much.

Well does Eve's DS - good performance. Boys love to go quick and should be encouraged to have a good time. Easy for them to get bored and go off ponies.

That's brilliant, well done your DS, and well done you managing to watch, it must be terrifying!

Fabulous result! DD1 hasn't done any cross country comps yet,but I've fence judged before and held my breath after every single rider jumped my fence.Grin

it is terrifying to watch, think about and this was only little 2ft3 as its a new horse and I wanted them to get confidence with each other.

He needs to be doing 2ft9 by end of year for area teams. I'll really not cope with that.

I'm going to get him an air vest thing, I know they are expensive but not expensive if anything happens.

Yay ! Well done him . I got the biggest telling off of my life from my mum at a XC event when I was young , reckless and basically bullied the pony into taking off from a standstill to try and clear a hay rack, which was a really really stupid idea . Pony leapt , got stuck in the middle of it , dumped me over her shoulder , knocked me out cold , and then managed to disentangle herself from jump and stand by me looking worried till the fence judge reached us .

I got away with concussion , a busted collar bone , and severe earache from my mother who despite being half a mile from the fence , pretty much beat the marshals there ..

DH bought me the point two jacket last Xmas . It was a condition of me carrying on doing the dangerous stuff !
