Not us,the dds rode to the meet for the first time on Friday and were so excited.Their friends, cousins, aunts and grandparents were there to see them and were very proud. The dds only followed for a bit,as they are only little and I was worried that they were not experienced enough to manage without me next to them, and there is a limit to how far I can run.Plus there were some huge excitable hunters careering about the road and I didn't want one colliding with us.DD2 cried when we couldn't follow any further,so we have said that we'll sort out a babysitter so they can go properly another time.

A teenage friend took dpony for the rest of the day, that pony just loves to hunt and is super safe, thankfully this time she didn't overtake the masterBlush. The only problem we have with her is that she is always a bit grumpy the next day,she is probably a bit stiff and sore due to her age [21/22],but she has had 2 days off to recover and was back to her normal self today and we had a lovely hack along the bridle path.

Enjoy the point to point.

Point to point was fun, it's in the new forest & most are on new forest ponies.

It's in a different location each year , they are told where the finish is 6 weeks ago and told the start yesterday.

Children's race's are 1 1/2 miles, adults 3 miles, idea is that you make your own way to the finish, starter doesn't even point You in the right direction. Huge turnout to watch this year.

I've only ever been out once. It was a couple of years ago. I loved it but I found it quite scary as I was nervous my injury prone dhorse was going to do something horrible to herself. She was a bit lame the next day, but fine after that. Just stiff I think. She has had all sorts of foot related problems in the last couple of years, and I can now almost price up canters on any other that perfectly soft flat ground, in Navilox scoops. Basically I have to go out on my own now as otherwise I ruin everyone elses hacks, by not beieng able to go as fast as they want to.

We drove to MILs on boxing day and came accross one of the cotswold hunts at the egde of the A40. Made my heart sing to see them. They were so polite to the trafic they were holding up, as the hounds were at the edge of the road. Wonderful stuff.

Sad marge2.Dpony is always a bit stiff and bad tempered the day after.Hopefully,if this dratted wind dies down, the dds will be going tomorrow.DD2 is going to hack the 2 miles there and DD1 will follow after them with me on the end of the lead rein.We don't normally use a lead rein, but dpony loves hunting and might disappear over the horizon with DD1 if I'm not attached.
I had planned to tidy up the horrid old swamp donkey today, but it has been so windy and rainy that I didn't bother, plus she'll just roll as soon as she is turned back out,so I may as well leave it til tomorrow.I't'll be an early start I think.

Yeah - wind's gone here today. I'll be riding this afternoon. Probably find all routes blocked by fallen trees. Can't jump them. That would be a pots worth of golddust Navilox.
