Hi,

Just wondered if you could help me. Sadly I had to have my horse put down 18 months ago after she was kicked in the field and broke her leg. It was an extremely upsetting time and was only 2 months after I'd had DD1 and so I couldn't face sorting out all my stuff. A friend put it all in a few trunks and kept it for me. I have now got round to pulling it all out. Sadly I'm very unlikely to get another horse in the near future as I have 2 young DDs and there are also financial constraints now. :( I don''t have anywhere to store my stuff.

What I really wanted to know is is there any market for things like 2nd hand rugs etc? How much would I expect to get for them? What condition would they have to be in to sell and if I were to sell them, where is the best place to advertise?

I don't know if there is any point trying to sell my stuff or not. But it seems a shame to just throw it away and a few extra pennies might be useful. The rugs are old but in ok condition. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks x

Could you tell us what you have and where you are? Maybe we could make you offers. If not eBay is quite a good place to look/sell, you can see what things are going for.

I gave my old rugs to the local WHW when I lost my first horse.
In hindsight, I should have kept them but I wanted them to be put to good use.

If you can't face putting them on ebay or preloved,do you have a local cattle/horse market? I often go to ours and they sell everything in auction from rugs to hoofpicks. You can specify whether they go singly or in job lots.

How about doing a car boot / equestrian tabletop sale ? My dad in in your area and loves car boots and often sees horse stuff (alas not so often pony, but yesterday got a job lot of headcollars, numnahs and a xc colour set).

So sorry to hear that :(

Am always in the market for any 5'9"s or 6'3" (but bigger size needs full neck ideally) as have severe compulsive rug buying disorder.

Hi
If they are pony and small horse stuff your local RDA or what used to be iplh might take them. Also as said before ebay is great at selling old horse stuff.

If you have any rugs size 5' to 5'3 or 6'9 my friend would be interested in buying them, she has a young warmblood who loves to trash rugs, and she is in need!
