How does one come to have suplus rugs, if they do?

Am thinking about getting a couple fo rmy two giant dogs! we have hasd a dog stay with us who has rugs as her bed and my two really are quite obsessed by it! I don't really want to go to the expense of new ones so anybody know where i could aquire some?

Check out eBay or look out for local equestrian auctions or boot sales. We get two a year at our local equestrian centre. I recommend getting anything you buy thoroughly cleaned by your local tack shop. You will never get all the hair off yourself and defunct rugs are defunct for a reason. Usually they are very worn out and they will REEK if you take them indoors!!!!

Ebay, classified in the paper (freeads is good, the yellow paper). Our local tack shop takes in 2nd hand rugs to sell on people's behalf, you can sometimes find a bargain there. Or if you know someone who repairs and reproofs rugs they often have surplus stock that people have forgotten to collect over the years!

I've got a couple of fairly tatty 5ft 3 rugs that you are welcome to if you pay the postage?

PM me if you are interested.

They came with daughter's pony but I have bought her new ones.

I have a couple - how? Do they breed in the shed or something? HmmGrin Obviously postage is a no-go, but seriously - they S.M.E.L.L! Even after being sent away to be washed there's still the lingering whiff of 'orse about them and if you're at all precious about the smell in the kitchen with the dogs... not for you!

Why why why do I have so many fleecey travel/under rugs for the hardy pony who doesn't need them and none for the horse who does?

i'm not really precious, been around animals too long to care Grin.

I do however have to large giant dogs! an di'm not sure a 5'3 would be big enough for them to share, not sure of the size of the one that was here but it stretched rigth the way accross the tv snug! It was HUGE.

Oh good, you must be a fan of Eau De Chien too! Wink I was wondering if it would be possible to just go up to your nearest livery yard/stables/whatever and ask if anyone's got one they wanted to dump. I know most people have got at least one they don't need but can't be arsed to put it in a skip or take it to the tip - you know, always hanging on to it "just in case".

I have a totally knackered 6ft 9in rug you can have for postage - not sure what postage would be as I'm in Luxembourg. PM if you're interested.

NightFury - I'm in NL and it usually costs people around 25 quid to send them out to me (from UK). :(
