Once again we went to Burghley, and once again DH took his camera (it's his hobby - it's my punishment for dragging him to horsey events) so we have about a million photos which I thought people might like a look at. With no further ado:
Angus Smales and Cornsay Grouse at the Jubilee Leap - I love this sort of picture.
Andrew Nicholson and Armada jump beautifully through Capability's Classic.
Nick Gauntlett and Rocket Science - I quite like this pic.
Mary King has a bit of an interesting jump at the Dairy Mounds with Apache Sauce.
I love this guy's face! He was so unimpressed with the horse. Jean-Luc Goerens and Marychope de Marast.
William Fox-Pitt and Macchiato look the picture of serenity.
James Robinson and Comanche were foot-perfect at the Rolex Crossing.
Geoff Curran and The Jump Jet look determined at the Trout Hatchery.
Jeannette Brakewell and Chill Out Bob taking the longer route.
Nicola Malcolm and McFly were spot on through Discovery Valley - I am very relieved to hear she's alright after having a nasty fall and being airlifted to hospital further round the course.

He is, isn't he? Makes you sick, eh?! Incredible guy to watch though, I am so pleased he decided to compete again!
What I find scary is that me and DH decide to spend most of our time at the combination fences as the simple ones are relatively dull. Occasionally I have to remind myself of the ridiculous size of the "easy" ones! 
I would not dare do a jump half their size!
How lovely to see the sheer speed, agility & athleticism of these amazing animals caught on camera.

Oh - and can anyone tell me whether Alex Hua Tian managed to stay on. Didn't quite catch it on camera on the BBC.....saw he retired but they never said whether he did eventually hit the turf

Was also tres amusing to see the croatian(?) guy deposited into the water fall on the last of the cascade hedges and especioally good that everyone made it round in one piece.
Kate - he was amazing - I suppose it helps when your inside leg is as long as his! 
Agree Ski - was tres impressive....unsual for a chinese bloke, as it the accent.
I have long legs too but nothing like the cling-on ability he has (actually, none of it if I'm honest)
Hong Kong educated at Eton methinks rather than the provinces!
His mother is English and his father Chinese, I believe. And indeed, educated somewhere posh! He seems like a nice guy though, and is definitely someone to watch for the future!
