I've had a lovely day out with four AGT students at a specialist language course - they really enjoyed it and I was feeling all 'yeah! Teaching's ace!'. Then, we started our journey home. Long story short, crowded, dirty, cancelled trains. Students coped well, we made the best of a two hour journey stood up. Returned to their home station, three parents present (very rural area so no other pickup options). One set of parents 30 minutes late. I therefore missed two possible trains and am now sat on a platform (one of those rural 'just a platform and a bench' stations) waiting AN HOUR for my 45 minute train home in the direction I just came from. Parents didn't even apologise or greet me. So no thank you either. AND it's my bloody day off!!! I need a calming bath, and possibly gin.
