I have been teaching for a fair few years now and this year I am quite unhappy at work at the moment.
We are a two form entry school and I have the noisy class... The other class are like mice (even though they came in noisily they are now quiet) where as mine are taking much longer. This is constantly referred to.
The class are hard work and feel drained by it.... SMT simply take the view of 'tell them' and they'll behave which doesn't work for tiny ones... Especially when they have external issues.

Any strategies for getting a noisy Foundation Stage class to use whisper voices? (This is the ridiculous expectation). The other class have managed it and mine can't yet.

Lots of other petty things annoying me at work too but can't leave as we need to pay the mortgage. I am actively looking but I have other ties with the school (own dc) so leaving would be tricky.

I teach secondary so forgive me if my suggestions are off the mark. Have you tried all the things you have done in previous years? Have you sort the advice of person who teaches the quiet class? Does the lea have an early years advisor who can help you?
