KS1 and KS2 Level predictions

Hello all.

Just wondering what primary schools use to predict levels. From a secondary point of view, my school use Fisher Family Trust type data. Do primary schools use something similar or is it just teacher assessed?

Thanks!

Some schools will use FFT. Others will use something else eg Target Tracker. Others will do their own thing.

Attainment is teacher assessed. In my experience, targets are set in discussion between teacher and HT/team leader (depending on size of school). Everywhere I know of is now expecting all children to make above average progress of 2 sub levels a year in KS2 and 3 per year in KS1.

As to what targets will look like in the brave new world after levels, who knows?

Thanks. My son's teacher said they might just be giving a straight pass or fail at the end of year 6. How awful and demoralising for any child that doesn't 'pass'.
