Does anyone teach Edexcel English Lit and Lang A level? Urgent help needed!

I do private tuition but only teach Lit at A level. I've been contacted by a tutee who's desperate and can't find anyone who does the Lit and Lang course. I've told her that I don't teach it and never have but she's begging me to help 'in a general way' with essay style and structure etc and also says that it's only the Lit side of things she's struggling with.

I've said a tentative yes and I'm now really regretting it. I can't access past papers on the Edexcel website but from what I can see of the mark schemes (which don't include the questions!), it doesn't look like Lit and Lang are assessed separately at all. The spec won't download to my computer (wtf is with the Edexcel site?! Nothing is accessible!) so that's no help to me.

Can anyone give me a clue? She's coming tonight for the first time and I really don't want to mess her around. I think she'd be much better off with a tutor who knows the course or at the very least has access to some past papers and the spec.

Is it as totally different to straight Lit as I am assuming? Can anyone give me an example of a past A2 question? Should I tell her I can't help? I am definitely leaning towards doing so.

I felt bad for you - surely she knows what she is meant to be doing? Surely she does past papers in class, surely she can bring you work she has done for you to help her improve? Perhaps she can ask her teacher to provide a copy of the spec. Or maybe her computer will download it. Surely some help rather than none is preferable to her...

I haven't taught this course but I have used the Edexcel website and it is a nightmare. In the end I rang them and they set up over the phone with a user name and permissions to view the courses I was involved in properly and some over relevant stuff

But I was working for a college - worth a try though

Thanks guys-she came on Monday and did bring some past papers and the AOs (which are different to others-no AO4 as it seems to be lumped in with 3?) so I did the best I could. The questions are pretty different to straight Lit but I think I can help with essay structure, analysis and general writing skills. I did tell her I thought she'd be better off with someone who's taught the course but I'd do my best-so fingers crossed!
