Hi

I'm a primary NQT and have avisit booked tomorrow for a school with a vacancy.

It's my first one and wondered what to expect? Any hints/ tips would be welcome!

It'll be a tour and an informal chat with usually either the head or deputy.

Go dressed smartly and ask lots of questions. Try and be friendly but not overfamiliar, smile a lot and if you get the chance interact appropriately with a pupil or two (in a corridor/playground).

Think of questions appropriate to ask a child/a normal teacher/the head.

Great opportunity! A friend did this, and when she came to the interview she already knew which buttons to push. Good luck!

Thanks!
How smart should I be ?
I was thinking of wearing trousers with a nice top and cardigan, basically my normal teaching clothes.

Phone on silent before you go in! Normal teaching clothes fine- make sure they're ironed Wink

Comfy shoes if its a large site! You don't want to be hobbling (like I was on my first interview tour Blush )
