I work as a TA in a primary school and I have just been given a share of the task of making 11 pairs of trousers from scratch, and a slightly higher quantity of Angel costumes.
The dress rehearsal is next Monday so they need to be finished by then. I work part time at the school. I have agreed to take on the sewing so as not to leave other colleagues in the lurch. There are only a couple of us with access to sewing machines.
However, I am more peeved that the HT has left us with a week to make all these costumes.
AIBU to think that as Christmas comes but once a year, the HT could get herself organised to let us have 'projects' like this a couple of weeks earlier. I did make my views on this clear to her this morning, which she took as I didn't want to help. I do. But with so much going on with my work school, my kids school, and Christmas organisation in general, it would be kinder to have a bit longer to do a job that we are all trying to achieve in a very short timescale, at the end of a long, exhausting term, with a bunch of over excitable children to deal with both at work and at home (some of us).
Rant over....
No responses necessary, just makes me feel better writing it down and venting.
