Has anyone got this? If so, do you find it useful? Thanks.

Bumping for you as I an interested too... However, the awful makeover of the rest of the TES site doesn't fill me with confidence!

Inclusionist · 13/08/2013 16:02

I can't go on TES any more (apart from obsessively browsing the jobs) because it is so bad! Used to quite like the forums too.

Cloudminnow · 13/08/2013 16:31

Thanks for your replies. Like you I don't find the new TES format very good and barely go on it anymore, and I used to use the forums regularly.

I refuse to pay for it. I save TES resources to my laptop and transfer them to memory stick or Dropbox when I need to get the to school. They are free, I fail to see what service TES-pro could offer me that's worth paying for.

The forums are nowhere near as useful as they used to be. I just stick to resource browsing when I fancy some inspiration.

I find the resources section very good. Also the jobs section. What's happened to the forums? I haven't looked there for quite a while. Is iboard ever worth subscribing to, do you think?

Thanks, what a shame!

Makingchanges · 17/08/2013 17:00

I looked at this but I too have been put off by the makeover of the forums. I now just browse for resources and save to Dropbox so I can access anywhere. I don't think tespro gives any extra benefit.

SDhopeful · 03/09/2013 17:00

I have just started using TES as will be beginning PGCE via School Direct tomorrow (gulp!), and I was very disappointed by the forums! Was hoping they would interesting, but have found the site irritating and frustrating, and so have given up logging in. Why can't they set it up like MN (or indeed countless other forums) which are easy to use/find/search etc...?

BatmanLovesAllan · 03/09/2013 20:30

I miss the old forums - page layout a lot like mumsnet, with your hotlist on the right and list of forums on the left. Was so easy to navigate. Now its a nightmare.

TESPro keeps advertising at me, but like other posters I use Dropbox / memory sticks. I spend enough on school without paying to keep my resources somewhere too!

RubyRR · 03/09/2013 21:34

Try UKedchat, either google for website which has a forum or get involved on twitter lots of other teachers willing to help/share resources I've found it really useful and a great support network.

RubyRR · 03/09/2013 21:35

Sorry a link may have been useful ukedchat.com/

Am I missing something with the forums? Can you just click on a thread and follow it (like here) or do you literally have to plough through loads of individual posts? I hate it. Keep going back, remembering how awful it is and then leaving.
