Teacher Stress

This is a message for any teachers out there who are feeling overwhelmed or stressed with their present situation.
Two years ago I left teaching due to bullying in the workplace. I was in a small primary school with 8 teachers and three were on long term sickness leave due to stress brought on by the behaviour of the new head. And then it was my turn!
I left the school with my self esteem at an all time low and ended up with having a breakdown. Many a day I felt that I would not get through this terrible time but I knew that if I didn't build up my self esteem then I would never move forward. For this reason I looked into Life Coaching for myself and have never looked back.
Society believes that EVERY CHILD MATTERS ---- I believe that EVERY TEACHER MATTERS. Look after your teachers and schools will thrive and be a pleasant environment for children to learn.
Life coaching helped me to use my talents in a different way. Teacher life coaching could be one way of tackling stress levels in schools today.

I agree with you but schools do vary and I would probably try a different one before leaving the profession entirely. However, I have certainly encountered bullying in the workplace in previous jobs in other sectors. There's a lot of it about unfortunately and it is horrible to go through! I'm glad you are feeling better.

Life coaching can be very dodgy. I have heard that psychiatrists have seen people with serious mental health issues made worse by life coaches who have no idea what they are dealing with.

I am glad you feeling better, I have to agree with the previous poster and suggest that you try another school before leaving the profession altogether
